DASH seeks new Trustees to join the BoardAll Projects
DASH is seeking new Trustees
Could you join our committed, enthusiatic and exciting Board of Trustees?
DASH is a Disability Arts organisation. We commission exciting new work by disabled visual artists; we run workshops; mentoring for artists and training.
Our project work includes major international development work to bring Disability Art into the mainstream, and to engage the wider arts world in an understanding and appreciation of Disability Art.
We work with arts and cultural organisations across the UK to commission disabled visual artists. Our 'IN' programme of work 2012-2015 consisted of five commissions in England, and Tu Fewn consisted of a series of commissions in venues across Wales. Currently we are supporting two commissions at galleries in England through the 'Inside' project.
DASH recently partnered with LADA and mac birmingham to deliver Awkward Bastards II, the second symposium of its kind exploring diversity in the Arts.
Cultivate is our mentoring programme for emerging disabled visual artists across the West Midlands, to enable them access to opportunities and practical specialist support to develop their practice and to cultivate a visual arts ecology that is diverse and representative of the diversity of our society.
For more information about DASH and our history please go to http://www.dasharts.org/about-us.html
DASH does all this work with a very small, very experienced and amazingly committed staff team, who have a national reputation for the excellence of DASH's work. We receive funding from Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation, and from Shropshire Council, Arts Council Wales and QC Data.
We are looking for new Trustees (disabled and non-disabled) to broaden the experience of our disability-led Board and to bring new ideas, enthusiasm and commitment to the way we run DASH.
We are looking for significant experience of one or more of:
- Fundraising for 'niche' voluntary sector organisations
- Marketing and/or social media work
- Human Resources
