Disability: Past and Present
The Devil’s Porridge Museum is seeking an artist to commission an artwork that will be the centrepiece to an exhibition as part of their Disability: Past and Present project, in November 2022.
The exhibition will showcase the experiences of disabled and chronically ill people who worked on the Solway Military Coast during WW1 and WW2.
They are looking for an artist to create a piece that takes inspiration from the research they have uncovered about disability and chronic illness within their collections, and will contribute to making the exhibition an interactive, multi-sensory space.
Eligibility: This opportunity is open to artists at all stages of their career, but they particularly welcome applications from artists who identify as disabled and/or chronically ill.
Contract type: Freelance commission, artwork due by 25 October 2022
How to apply: To apply, please read the brief below and email your proposal to firstname.lastname@example.org
Deadline: by 23:59 on 15 August 2022
