Cultivating spaces for extraordinary artists

Call Out: Climate Action Commission

Visual artists, submit your Expressions of Interest for the a space arts Climate Action Commission.

The current climate emergency is an urgent and critical concern worldwide. 'a space arts' say "as a cultural organisation it is our responsibility to raise awareness, as well as reducing and mitigating our own environmental impact. This commission will enable audiences to connect with environmental ideas and concerns and bring about meaningful change in perceptions and behaviours, leading to climate action and climate solutions."

A space arts are looking for visual artists to respond to the commission brief, developing their own interpretations and concepts on the current climate emergency whilst acknowledging the fluid and ever changing history of God’s House Tower and the speculative future of this historic monument.

As part of their ongoing commitment to anti-racism, accessibility and inclusion, they encourage expressions of interest from those who are underrepresented in current climate conversations. They would also be interested in commissioning a socially-engaged project, acknowledging the need for collective and collaborative approaches to climate action.

The commissioned artist will receive a budget of £5,000, and will exhibit at God’s House Tower from June – August 2023.
