Cultivating spaces for extraordinary artists

Conversations / Future Selves

Open call for D/deaf and disabled artists to make short online works as part of the Y Lab / Arts Council Wales 'HARP' (Health, Arts, Research, People) innovation programme Sprint.

We are looking to commission five D/deaf and or disabled artists to make short online artworks in response to their experience of the pandemic and hopes for the future. We’re inviting artists to reflect on Conversations / Future Selves - when ‘normal’ doesn’t work for so many, how can we creatively imagine what the future looks like together?

The artist fee is £250. This is a light touch project and the invitation is to make a short artwork which is shareable online. With the fee in mind, we imagine you might spend 1 - 2 days of your time on making this artwork. As part of your time on this, we will meet as a group over video call to share a conversation around Conversations / Future Selves - we can provide access support.
