Cultivating spaces for extraordinary artists

DaDaFest Commissions

DaDaFest is looking to commission 15 artists or companies to create work themed around ‘Translations’ for inclusion in our online festival and annual programme of events. Projects must be D/deaf and/or disabled-led and there are further eligibility criteria for each of the three commissioning strands:

1. Micro-commissions – 10 commissions of up to £1,000 for artists living or working in the North West. These are available to artists at any stage of their careers, and are also supported by Unlimited. We define North West as Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire. Deadline: 20 July 2020

2. Festival commissions – 4 commissions for established artists of up to £2,500. Applicants can be from anywhere in the world. Deadline: 20 July 2020

3. Library commission – 1 commission of up to £2,500 for established artists themed around the concept of public libraries. This commission is supported by St Helens Borough Council’s art in libraries programme and is open to applicants from anywhere in the world. Deadline: 31 July 2020

All commissions must have the capacity to be shared digitally, and if needed, production advice and professional development opportunities will be available to help build a digital presence.
