Cultivating spaces for extraordinary artists

DANC Art Masterclasses

Calling all Visual Artists: DANC presents a series of five sessions based around the visual arts.

There will be a mixture of creative and skills-based sessions. Bookings are open for the first three sessions - please see details and booking links below.

There will also be a "meet the curators" session on the evening of 10 May plus a session on "Instagram for visual artists" towards the end of May. Details of these final two sessions will be announced soon.

Session 1:
Creative Workshop with Beth Hopkins - An experimental drawing workshop exploring your kitchen.

Monday 22 March, 1.30pm - 2.30pm.

Experience your kitchen differently. We normally associate drawing with looking, but what happens when we draw what we touch and what we taste? Join artist Beth Hopkins for a workshop experimenting with new approaches to drawing. You may like to situate yourself in your kitchen for this workshop, but it's not essential.

Are you struggling with writing an artist statement? Join Castlefield Gallery Curator Matthew Pendergast for a 1hr session on what sort of things to write about within your artist statement.
