DAO: Communications Manager
Disability Arts Online is excited to offer a new role for an ambitious, experienced Communications Manager to join their friendly and dedicated team.
They are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable communications professional with a deep understanding of disability and the arts to become part of our senior management team.
You will lead on internal and external communications to ensure DAO reach as many people as we can through their work. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to make this role their own.
As with the nature of a small-scale organisation with big ambitions, you will be as happy working on strategy as you are getting stuck into the detail and delivery. With a dynamic workload including all aspects of communications you will develop and grow our audiences, and market our digital content covering all artforms across the country and beyond.
DAO was awarded capital funding in May 2022 to completely redevelop the DAO website and digital infrastructure to include a new digital exhibition space. Audience development for this will sit within the remit of the role. The recent uplift awarded DAO as an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation from 2023-26, making it a great time to be joining the organisation. Having the chance to help shape the new website and updated brand, it is a truly exciting time to become part of Disability Arts Online’s future.
The Communications Manager will work from home, with some travel expected as part of the role for events and meetings.
Disability Arts Online is an organisation led by disabled* people committed to increasing the representation of disabled workers in the arts and cultural workforce. As such we look forward to receiving applications from disabled candidates.
