Disabled artists take over 30 museums and galleries across Britain and Northern Ireland to celebrate the joy of Dada


​​​​​​​​​To mark the 102nd anniversary of the 1st Dada International Exhibition in Berlin, 31 d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists will stage Dada-inspired interventions in 30 museums and galleries across Britain and Northern Ireland on the same day on 2 July 2022.

Dada revelled in paradox, asserting the uselessness of art and the impossibility of justifying its position in the world. The paradox that Dada encompassed illustrated the importance Dada attached to ambivalence and unlimited artistic freedom. That contradiction and yearning for freedom is echoed in our title We Are Invisible, We Are Visible #WAIWAV – a recognition of our resistance to the ableist culture which seeks to repress us and ignore the value we attach to our place in the world.
