Cultivating spaces for extraordinary artists

My Eye Is My Ear

Now a yearly staple, London Short Film Festival presents My Eye Is My Ear, a compendium of short films meditating Deaf identity, culture and language, from both D/deaf and hearing storytellers.

From star crossed lovers lamenting lockdown to supernatural occurrences, this year’s choices combine narrative structure and the lyricism of sign language to capture Deaf experiences buffering against a hearing world.

Each film captures both the intersectionality and universalities of the Deaf experience, engaging audiences both D/deaf or hearing. Includes BAFTA Breakthrough participant Bim Ajadi’s epic hip-hop opera effortlessly combining BSL and visual vernacular with choreography, music, and football.

Guest-programmed by comedian, film and theatre-maker, Rinkoo Barpaga. 75'

All films will have closed captioning.
