SAND Community Engagement Worker
Safe Ageing No Discrimination (SAND) is a group working to improve the experience of older and old lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in Shropshire as they access health and social care - and related - services. SAND is also host to the Shrewsbury Hub of the National Festival of LGBT History.
SAND are currently recruiting a Community Engagement Officer.
This role is about:
- Making connections and supporting LGBT+ people to engage with SAND through a variety of routes
- Identifying opportunities for, and engaging with, SAND promotions with partners and other relevant organisations.
This is a 12 month, freelance role, (subject to regular reviews) with the possibility to extend beyond this period. Start date ASAP 10 hrs p/wk @ £12 p/hr, plus mileage for outreach work.
The successful applicant will work from home and/or will be based at the SAND Office in Shrewsbury Town Centre.
They will be responsible for their own tax & national insurance.

Activities are currently being run online and are likely to move to socially distanced face-to-face when safe and appropriate to do so. The successful applicant/s will be required to take part in safeguarding training.
