Cultivating spaces for extraordinary artists

The Free Space Project

The Free Space Project in London has a series of new, time-bound opportunities for UK based visual artists to work with the organisation, which has generously been supported by the City Bridge Trust.

The Free Space Project supports arts and community activities within Kentish Town Health Centre for their patients and those in Camden. This new strand of opportunities enables them to deliver some projects differently using digital tools and online, whilst their building is closed to the public.

Across all the opportunities they are focused on activities that aim to improve wellbeing through the process of making. They are interested in working with artists from across the UK, whose practice relates to health and wellbeing. They are open to supporting artists with both little experience to very experienced artists, and are keen to support artists that are LGBT+, disabled, and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) artists.

Where possible the small team will try to support artists with access needs through their own resources. Please contact Jennifer via email, if you need to submit the application in another format or have any other needs you need to talk through.

There are three opportunities that can be found on the website HERE in PDF and word format, alongside an easy read version, and BSL interpretation will be uploaded on Monday too. The opportunities are:

3 x Virtual exhibition commissions

3 x Creative workshops for adults

10 x Creative Activities for children

The deadline for all the projects is the same and quite short: 5pm on Friday 3 July 2020.
